Susan F. Stochl, age 81, of South Haven, formerly of Minneapolis, died Monday, July 19, 2021 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
No public services will be held.
Susan was born February 29, 1940 in Roselle Park, NJ to Mr. and Mrs. Francis and Florence (Hotze) Canning. She grew up in Metuchen, NJ and New City, NY. She graduated with the Class of 1958 from Clarkstown High School and earned a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Rosemont College in Bryn Mawr, PA, graduating with the Class of 1962. On November 13, 1970, Susan was united in marriage to James Stochl. Susan worked as an editor of text books for many years, as well as an amateur tile installer, and a frequent volunteer. She loved holidays, the color pink, good grammar, and her dog Caiside. Susan enjoyed gardening, laughing with friends, and visiting Ireland. She will be remembered for her ferocious loyalty to those she loved as well as her generosity, wit, creativity, and stubbornness.
She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Matt Miller of Action, MA, Emma Finlay of New York, NY, and Katherine Finlay of Alpharetta, GA; grandchildren, Mark, Rachel and Chrissy Stochl; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Diane Canning and Patricia Finlay.
