Richard Hayek was born September 30, 1936 in Robbinsdale, number 7 of 9 children to John and Justine Hayek. He grew up in Robbinsdale and attended Robbinsdale High School. Richard worked in window treatment sales and installation for Lintex, Kirsch and Graber, prior to starting his own successful business. Potts was a passionate golfer having memberships at Hollydale, Sundance and Southbrook Golf Clubs over the years. He enjoyed golfing, deer hunting and spending time with his "Grands" and "Great Ones". He especially loved attending their sporting events. Shortly before he died, he told his family that they were the pride and joy of his life. Nobody ever doubted how much he loved them. We will cherish the memories and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Richard is survived by his life partner, Diane Turnquist; his loving daughters, Tracy Hayek, Chris (John) Davenport, Shelley Lutzke and their mother Bobbie Hayek; Diane's sons, Mike (Jan), Bill (Jan), Jon (Lotta) Turnquist; 13 "Grands", Callie Hayek, Joshua Lutzke, Abigail (Jon) Gustafson, Anna, Alec, Connor Davenport, Jaime, Josh, Jacob, Emily, Matilda Turnquist and Jessica (Ryan) Larson; 10 "Great Ones", Cole and Maya Carlson, Troy and Tasia Davenport, Sophia Weber, Claire and Henry Gustafson, Kobe and Zion Whittaker, and Levi Larson; brother, Leonard Hayek; sisters, Phyllis (Ed) Elling, Patricia (Len) Feltes; many, many cherished nieces and nephews, and wonderful life-long friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Tony Lutzke; brothers, John and Leslie Hayek; sisters, Eleanor Johnson, Alice Skowronek and Margaret Eisenzimmer; beloved niece, Lisa Bruska; treasured nephews, Michael and Patrick Hayek; and best friend, Wayne Strong.

The urn bearers will be Joshua Lutzke, Alec and Connor Davenport, Josh and Jacob Turnquist. Pastor Josh Christenson will officiate at the service.
