Philip Nagorski Obituary

Philip L. Nagorski, age 73, of Buffalo, died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, Buffalo, with Pastor Kari Bahe officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.

Philip Leonard Nagorski was born November 3, 1948, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Philip and Theresa (Williams) Nagorski. Phil grew up in Maple Lake, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Timothy Catholic Church and graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1966. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. On July 8, 1972, Phil was united in marriage to Sandra Smedstad at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. They made their home in Buffalo where they were blessed with two children, Chad and Kristen. Phil worked as a retail sales manager at numerous locations, primarily Coast to Coast Hardware in Buffalo and Rockford and at Neil's Floor Covering in Buffalo. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, the Buffalo American Legion, and the Buffalo Gun Club. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, tinkering in his garage, and meticulously maintaining his yard, vehicles, equipment, garage and home. He was his children's and grandchildren's biggest fan at their events and in life. Phil was the type of guy that always greeted you with a handshake and a smile.

Phil is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; son, Chad (Megan) Nagorski of Esko; daughter, Kristen Hoyne of Buffalo; grandchildren, Alexa Evenson, Avery and Aiden Hoyne, Jackson and Laila Nagorski; brother, William (Christa) Nagorski of Lakeville; sister, Deanna (Roy) Provo of Clearwater; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Theresa Nagorski; and sister, Mary Nagorski.
