Patsy L. Werner, age 47, of South Haven, died Friday, March 13, 2020 at her home after a valiant 3 1/2 year battle with cancer, knowing she was deeply loved.
Memorial Services are pending.
Patsy Lynn Werner was born May 3, 1972 at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapids City, South Dakota to Henry and Joanne (Olson) Wessling. As a young girl, Patsy moved with her family to Maple Lake, Minnesota before moving to the family farm in the early 1980s. She attended school in Kimball, where she graduated with the Class of 1991. Following her graduation, Patsy attended cosmetology school in St. Cloud before becoming a loving mother to her daughter, Samantha. Over the years in addition to raising Samantha, Patsy worked for the Kimball Schools, both in the kitchen and for Kids Club. She also worked for Anthony's Lawn Statue in Kimball. Out of all her jobs, Patsy's favorite was being a homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, mowing the lawn, fidgeting and tinkering with objects around the house, and using her woodstove. While a homebody at heart, Patsy liked to occasionally try her luck at the casino. Above all, Patsy cherished those she loved, especially her two adoring grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kinsley. Although being diagnosed with cancer, her smile never left her face, she never complained, and her caring nature was always present. Patsy's kind, beautiful and pure soul will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Patsy is survived by her significant other of 18 years, Joel Hoyer of South Haven; daughter, Samantha (Jimmy Laabs) of Paynesville; granddaughters, Cheyenne and Kinsley Laabs; parents, Henry and Joanne Wessling of South Haven; siblings, Barbara (Rob) Hawkins of South Haven, and Chet (Jessica) Wessling of Annandale; mother-in-law, Cecile Hoyer of Litchfield; and her aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; aunt Suzie; and other special family members.
Chet Wessling, Ryan Buhrt, Ronnie Buhrt, and Joanna Mackereth will serve as urn bearers.
