Mary Elizabeth Bondhus

Mary "Beth" Bondhus, age 25, of Monticello, formerly of Buffalo, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at her home as a result of an accidental drug overdose.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Monticello with visitation one hour prior to the service. Fr. Patrick Barnes will Celebrate the Mass. Burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at St. Henry Catholic Cemetery in Monticello. Services will be live streamed on the funeral home website. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal rescue group or shelter.

Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Bondhus was born June 19, 1996 in Minneapolis to John and Mary Kay (Jungmann) Bondhus. She was baptized at St. Henry Catholic Church in Monticello and confirmed in her faith at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. As a child, Beth loved to help at the Spring Valley Fish Farm, help with NANFA activities, and enjoyed romping through the woods and marshes with her dad. Beth grew up in Buffalo and graduated from Holy Trinity Catholic School in Winsted. She continued her education at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. She shared her creative talent in painting, drawing, and making music. Beth had a heart for helping others, especially the under-served and under-represented members of her community. She had a great love for all animals and volunteered as a rescue worker for abandoned cats.

Beth is survived by her mother, Mary Kay Bondhus of Buffalo; brother, Jonathan Bondhus of Buffalo; half-siblings, Perry Bondhus, Tammy Morimoto, Troy Bondhus and Holly Neuman; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, John.
