Jareld Mike Thompson

Jareld M. Thompson, age 80, of Willow River died July, 25, 2021 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Private Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Father John Meyer officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.

Jareld Mike Thompson was born May 7, 1941 in Bruno, Minnesota to Floyd and Floretta (Day) Thompson. He moved to Minneapolis and was employed by Special Parts of New Hope. On August 11, 1962 Jareld was united in marriage to Judith J. Bissonnette at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale, Minnesota. They lived in South Minneapolis prior to moving to New Hope to raise their three children: Gregory, Jeff, and Joey. After their children were grown, they lived in Moundsview and Willow River. When their health began to fail, they moved to Augusta Mercy Care Center in Moose Lake. Jareld enjoyed gardening and taking walks in the woods to listen to nature and talk to his four-legged friends.

Jareld is survived by his granddaughter, Abigail Thompson; sisters and brothers, Annie, Vera, Shirley, Dale, Marge, Jennie, Linda, Wayne, and William. He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; sons, Gregory, Jeffrey, and Joseph; several siblings, Eldon, Clifton, Juanita, Arnold, Dorothy, Norma and Milton; and his parents.
