James Francis Munstenteiger

James "Jim" Munstenteiger, age 81, of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Havenwood in Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2021 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Private family burial will follow at Marysville Catholic Cemetery, Marysville Township, Wright County. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:45 a.m. on Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home's website. Memorials are preferred to St. Timothy Catholic School.

James Francis Munstenteiger was born February 10, 1940 in Buffalo, Minnesota to Ben and Isabel (Latour) Munstenteiger. Jim was raised on the family farm in Maple Lake Township. He graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1958. Jim lived his entire life in Maple Lake and worked as a dairy farmer. In addition to farming, Jim also worked for Pace Industries in Maple Lake. On January 28, 1995 he was united in marriage to Myra (Bruns) Demarais. Jim enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He liked to tend to his garden and socialize with family and friends.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Dean Demarais of Cold Spring, Lisa (Tom) Decker of Waverly, Daren (Renee) Demarais of Maple Lake, and Laurie (Jason) Rothers of Glenwood; siblings, Larry (Janet) of Maple Lake, and Pat Erickson of Uvalde, TX; sisters-in-law, Mary Munstenteiger and Kathy Munstenteiger; and many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myra; parents, Ben and Isabel; sisters, Anabel Jude and Rita Jude; and brothers, Joe Munstenteiger and Steve Munstenteiger.

Jaret, Jayce, and Justin Demarais, Samantha Rothers, Alexandra Gardner, Jerika Decker, Joe Baker, and Benny Jude will serve as pallbearers. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter will provide music for the service. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
