Freda A. Provo, age 89, of Annandale, died Monday, November 23, 2020 at her home in Centennial Villa Assisted Living.
Public Viewing will be held 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. Family will not be present for viewing; masks and social distancing will be required. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Burial will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. The funeral and committal services will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Freda Ann Provo was born March 24, 1931 in Pearl Lake, Minnesota to Anthony and Anna (Nelson) Konz. Freda grew up on the family farm near Pearl Lake, along with her 10 siblings. Freda attended school in Kimball, where she graduated with the Class of 1949. She then furthered her education at St. Cloud Beauty College, obtaining a degree in cosmetology. On November 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Arsene J. Provo at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake. Freda worked various jobs over the years to keep busy, with a majority of her time spent self-employed as a beautician at Annandale Beauty Shop. Freda was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale, as well as a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake and St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, and spending time with family. Freda was an avid gardener, and spent much of her time outdoors tending to her gardens.
Freda is survived by her children, John of Otsego, Sharon (Sandy Rosploch) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Greg of St. Louis Park, Dean (Sandy) of Cold Spring, Bob (Terry) of Maple Grove, Tim of South Haven, and Chad (Ann) of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence (Norman) Severson of Woodbury, Dorothy Maus of Kimball and Edith (Mervyn) Palmer of Minneapolis; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arsene; parents, Anthony and Anna Konz; brothers, Philip, Elwin, Vincent, Ebert, Arnold, and Magnus Konz; and sister, Mildred Wicker.
Freda's sons will serve as casket bearers. St. Ignatius Music Ministry will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
